Dana Micucci has
enjoyed a decades-long career as a widely published journalist and author
writing about culture, travel, and spirituality. She is the author of

--In Dana Micucci's new novel The Third Muse, a metaphysical
mystery set in the international art world, New York journalist
Lena Leone investigates the mystery of a stolen painting, the Portrait of
Giovanna Tornabuoni by the Renaissance master Ghirlandaio. In the process, she
undergoes a series of initiations that unexpectedly take her on a
transformative journey deeper into her heart.

The author's Journey in Writing the Novel and Why She Wrote It
-- Micucci, a Pittsburgh
native and longtime New York journalist who has written for many well-known
publications, began writing The Third Muse in a garret in Paris 25 years ago.
This very long labor of love is her fifth book and first novel. She
says it was a test of her faith to keep holding onto her vision and
believing that The Third Muse would one day be published. She is pursuing
a film adaptation of the book, another one of her longtime dreams.
--Having studied fiction
at Columbia University under the late novelist Raymond Kennedy, to whom The
Third Muse is dedicated, Micucci weaves together themes from her own life
in the novel, which is set in New York, Paris, and Florence. She says The Third
Muse, like her last book, the spiritual travel memoir Sojourns of the Soul: One
Woman's Journey around the World and into Her Truth, is ultimately about the
universal human journey towards wholeness.

much heart. She makes frequent trips back to Pittsburgh to visit her family.
She is now based in Taos, NM, after many years in New York City.
